Updates
A running history of what's changed on MaeloRO, condensed from the official Discord announcements. Newest first.
September 28, 2026
- Play with an Xbox controller on Android. Pair an Xbox (or any standard) controller by
Bluetooth and open Play Mobile: the left stick walks and the
right stick moves the camera. D-pad ► / ◄ selects the next
monster / player as your target, A attacks, X picks up items,
Y talks to the nearest NPC and B cancels.
- Skills with the controller. LB / RB + A, B, X or Y use the skills on your
mobile skill arc (each slot shows its button combo while a controller is connected) and
LT / RT change the skill page. A skill that needs a target goes to the one you selected;
with nothing selected you can aim it: D-pad to choose, A to cast,
B to cancel.
- Menus with the controller. Start opens a menu with Inventory, Equipment,
Skills, Status, Quests, Party, Guild, World map and more; Select opens Settings. Every
window can be used with the D-pad + A / B: a gold frame shows which button is selected.
- Dark mode for Play Mobile. Switch it on in Settings or with the moon button in the
"…" menu; your phone remembers your choice.
- Play Mobile improvements: Ragnarok-style icons on the HUD, the quest tracker moved out of the
middle of the screen, the Lucky Roulette no longer pops up when you log in, the skill window scrolls with
your finger, smoother walking with the virtual joystick, and the character no longer jumps back after
talking to NPCs.
- Solo Pack for Padawan, Jedi and Sith. The Adventurer Solo Pack in Prontera (or
@solopack) now serves the Force classes: your Lightsaber is your weapon, so you choose
Force (INT) or Blade (STR) gear, plus the same armor, headgear and food
everyone gets. One claim per character.
- Star Wars atmosphere. New music in the Sith Base and in the
Lightsaber Forge, new decorations (the Imperial emblem, Death Star and Star Destroyer
holograms, a glowing forge and an X-Wing hologram), and Anakin and
Obi-Wan now look like a Sith and a Jedi.
- Fixes: the controller no longer stops working after changing maps, and NPCs dressed as a
class now show their head and no longer shake it.
September 27, 2026
- MaeloRO Android App. Download it from
maeloro.com/maeloro.apk (Android 7 or newer). It opens the
game straight in landscape fullscreen with the new mobile interface, the keyboard no longer
covers the chat, the Back button asks before closing the game, and you can create your account
right inside the app. If your phone asks, allow "Install unknown apps" for your browser.
- New Play Mobile interface. Tap Play Mobile on your phone for a layout made for
touch screens: login and character selection that fit any phone size, a new HUD with HP/SP, clock, mail,
attendance, roulette, cash shop, zoom and sound, and a chat bar at the bottom with channels and filters.
- 4-page skill shortcuts on the phone. Tap Shortcut on a skill or an item, pick the
page and the slot. Hold a slot (or tap the pencil) to move or remove what is on it.
- Smoother virtual joystick and touch-friendly windows: Status, Inventory, Equipment, Storage,
Guild, Party, Friends, Trade, shops and more. Tap an item for big Use / Equip / Info buttons, tap a party,
friend or guild member to open their menu, and scroll lists with your finger.
- Guild emblems no longer cover player names on the phone.
- Create your account without leaving the game from the Play Mobile login.
- Regular Play on PC and on the phone stays exactly as it was.
- Fixes: no more black screen on Play / Play Mobile when entering through www.maeloro.com; the
phone no longer freezes when choosing a skill target; Assassin skills and shortcuts work on mobile; and
pet eggs, the Mystery Pet Egg Box, costumes and Megingjard no longer show as Unknown Item.
September 26, 2026
- 1,324 new clothes colors for every class. The official kRO clothes palettes are now in the game
as colors 10000 to 11323: color 10000 + the number in the official palette list, so
10143 is official color 143. They cover the 1st, 2nd, transcendent, 3rd and 4th jobs and the expanded
classes, plus the jRO outfits of the 3rd jobs (those show once the next client update is out). Not
included: Swordman, Monk, Champion, Sura, Inquisitor, Soul Reaper, female Whitesmith and the Force
classes. Your current color does not change.
- The Stylist only shows colors that exist. Before, it offered every number from 1 to 7105 to
everyone and many of them had no palette, so nothing changed. Now Next/Previous skip the gaps, "Jump to"
takes you to the nearest existing color, and it tells you which color you are on and how many your look
has. It follows your Job Appearance look too.
- Lightsabers can be wielded from Base Level 15. All six lightsabers (Blue, Green, Red, Purple,
Yellow and Gold) used to need Base 70, so a new Padawan earned a blade it could not hold for a long time.
They now only need Base 15.
- The Red Lightsaber can finally be earned. Until now a Sith had no blade at all: the Blue
Lightsaber is a Jedi weapon and the red one had no source. The Sith Artificer, beside Anakin
in the Sith base, now forges it from your Blue Lightsaber + 1 Red Crystal, or from a Red
Crystal + Saber Handle + Gem of Force. Red Crystals drop from the new Fire Porings (level 130)
of the Sith Path, behind the red gate north of Anakin — Sith only. Anakin and the Job
Master point the way.
- Jedi and Sith now require Base Level 110. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker only
test a Padawan who has reached Base 110 and Job 50; before, Job 50 alone was enough.
If you are short, the master tells you your current levels. The guide at the Job Master says the same.
September 25, 2026
- The Force arrives: Padawan, Jedi and Sith can now be earned in game. A Novice with
Job 10 finds Master Yoda in Geffen Field 01, gathers three parts and has the
Interstellar Forger beyond the portal in Comodo build a Blue Lightsaber
to become a Padawan. From there, Obi-Wan Kenobi in Umbala Field 02 leads to the Jedi
and the Deep Hole in Juno Field 02 leads to Anakin Skywalker and the
Sith — each with a short test on their Code. Full details on the
Classes page.
- The Job Master tells the story. Novices get a new Padawan (Star Wars quest)
option: it explains where the ship fell, who the masters are and every step of the three quests, with
the answers to the tests highlighted. Padawans get directions to Obi-Wan and Anakin instead.
- New monster and items. The Dark Poring now roams Prontera Field 01
and drops Blue Crystal; Pirate Skeletons drop the Saber Handle and
Wootan Fighters the Gem of Force. Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin appear with their own
portraits in the dialogue.
- 3rd-job skills show up on their own. Transcendent 3rd classes (and the mounted and
baby variants) had no skill tree in the client, so the window came up empty after the change and
the Izlude workaround had to hand out every skill at once. The trees are in place now, the
automatic hand-out is off and the Izlude NPC has been retired.
September 13, 2026
- Your Job Appearance now survives relogging. The look you pick at the
Job Appearance NPC in Prontera was always saved correctly — what was lost
was the drawing on your own screen. Everyone else could see you properly the whole time;
only you went back to your real class after reconnecting. Now it is restored the moment you log in,
and you no longer have to visit the NPC every session. Coming back to your own look still works the
same way: talk to the NPC.
- Whickebine's Black Kaho got its magic penetration back. The base headgear ignores
100% of an enemy's MDEF for 5 seconds when you are hit by magic, and the Kaho version had quietly
lost that effect when it was created — it received the generic Kaho stat template instead.
All 43 Kaho headgears were checked against their base items; this was the only one affected.
- Regenschirm (Illusion 17.1) can no longer be bricked. The Access Controller marks
the transmission as started immediately, but only finishes it after roughly 19 seconds of dialogue.
Anyone who disconnected or left the instance in that window left it stuck in a state where the NPC
went completely silent — not even an error message — and the run could not be completed.
If this happened to you, remake the instance and it will work.
- The Thanatos statues no longer lock up for everyone. The five Charm Stone statues on
tha_t12 share a single server-wide sequence, so only one party can run it at a time.
If a party started the chain and walked away, it stayed blocked for the whole server until the next
restart — and every other player got “The statue has such a strong light that I can't see
or touch it.” It now resets by itself after 20 minutes without progress, and never interrupts a
fight already under way.
September 12, 2026
- Aqua Benedicta works on real water again. The map data in use had water marked
incorrectly on 453 maps — the skill failed while standing on actual water, yet worked on dry
ground at the Payon spawn, which had almost 40,000 cells wrongly flagged as water. 128 maps were
corrected and the result verified against the engine at 586 separate points. Three maps where two
independent methods disagreed were deliberately left alone.
- Endless Tower floor 101 now tells you what to do. The Lucid Crystal starts disabled
and only activates when Entweihen Crothen dies. It previously said nothing at all, which was
repeatedly reported as a bug. You now get a message on arrival, and another if you try to use the
crystal too early.
- Containers that give several items no longer eat them. The engine deletes a container
before running its script and only frees one inventory slot, so boxes handing out multiple items
could silently lose part of the contents when your bag was nearly full. Fourteen containers now check
the space first and give the box back if it does not fit.
- Morocc2 finally has music. The map had no entry in the client's music table, so it
fell back to the default track. It now plays the same castle theme used by every WoE castle.
September 2, 2026
- A new Homunculus AI is available for testing. It replaces the stock behaviour with
proper tactics: it picks and casts attack skills, keeps its buffs up on its own, chases and
disengages on its own judgement, and can be tuned per player through its configuration file.
- Switch it on and off in game with
/hoai. The command toggles between the
default AI and the new one, so you can compare them on the same homunculus without logging out.
- You must clear your browser's site data before it will load — a normal refresh,
even Ctrl+F5, is not enough. The client keeps AI scripts in its own storage and reads them from there
before it ever asks the server, so the old files survive a hard refresh.
- If your homunculus casts nothing, check its skills first. A homunculus earns
1 skill point every 3 levels, and those points have to be spent by hand in the
homunculus skill window. No AI can cast a skill that was never learned — this is the most common
cause by far, and it is not a bug.
- This is still in testing. If it misbehaves, please report it in
#bugs-suggestions with your homunculus type and whether it is
evolved or S — those change which skills exist, and without them a report
cannot be reproduced.
August 31, 2026
- The Emperium is now called “Emperium of Morocc.”
- Two banners now stand on the battlefield, one on each side of the Emperium.
They fly the emblem of the guild that currently holds Morocc and carry its name, so you can
see who rules the moment you arrive.
- You can now proclaim your victory from the battlefield itself. The holding guild
could already pay at the Izlude flag to announce it server-wide; the two new banners offer the
same thing, at the same price. The cooldown is shared between all three, so switching between
them will not get you an extra announcement.
August 30, 2026
- MVP Vouchers are live. Every MVP now drops them for whoever lands the killing blow —
5 as a base, plus 1 more for every 25 levels of the MVP, capped at 60 per account per day.
Spend them at the MVP Voucher Trader in the Turbo Track waiting room.
Until now that NPC traded for a currency that did not exist anywhere on the server, so nobody could buy from it.
- Kaho crafting fixed. Patry in Eclage was refusing materials you actually had in your bag.
She asked for an internal item that could not be obtained, while the one you can buy shows the exact
same name on screen — there was no way to tell from the outside.
- The Hunting Board no longer eats your reward. Turning in a hunt with a full inventory used to
destroy the TCG Cards and close the quest anyway. It now checks for space first and keeps your hunt complete
until you have room.
- Battle for Morocc got three changes:
the guild that loses the site is now told the moment it happens, so anyone online can rally;
the guild holding it can pay 10,000z at the Izlude flag to proclaim it server-wide;
and breaking your own Emperium no longer counts as a conquest — it returns at full health, so damage can no longer be banked to deny the site to a rival.
- Guild permissions fixed. Guild masters could not tick the invite permission on any position —
the checkbox reverted before OK could be pressed, and expel and the emblem editor were missing too.
Every guild was affected, not only the ones that reported it.
- Alternative appearances no longer show pink patches. Characters using the Job Appearance NPC
with a custom clothes colour had areas render in bright magenta.
Latest
- Cash Shop Mirror — preview Cash Shop items before buying.
- Training Dummy added to test damage and builds.
- New Shopping Area for easier buying/selling.
- Bubble Gum now purchasable with Activity Tokens.
- Premium Storage — 600 extra storage slots.
- Gym Pass and Skill Copyist added.
August 17, 2026
- Illusion Enchanter (Prontera 90, 115) now warns you first. This NPC does not preserve bonus lines (random options) or enchant grade, and it clears card slots 2 and 3. That was always the case but it never told you — it now shows a warning before you confirm. Read it carefully.
- Job Master: Super Novice → Expanded Super Novice fixed. The change was gated behind a rebirth requirement, but a Super Novice can never rebirth, so the option was unreachable and did nothing. Third classes keep their rebirth requirement.
- Old Glast Heim (Hard) now states its requirement immediately instead of burying it two dialogue pages deep. You must finish the original Old Glast Heim story — the quest Time Conqueror — before Hard mode opens.
- Last Fallen Warrior: teleporting is now disabled on the event map. Players could Fly Wing onto a cell monsters couldn't reach and outlast everyone. Entry to the event is unaffected.
- Activity Tokens and vending. Keeping a shop open no longer costs you your token — if you are online with a vending shop or a buying store up, you earn tokens normally. @autotrade still earns no tokens, by design: the token rewards being present, and @autotrade logs you out. Nothing is lost while a shop is up, since the hourly timer does not reset.
- Thanatos / Devil Tower saying you already ran it? You are not locked out — the expedition was never closed. Talk to Shep and choose "Cancel my reservation" to clear the flag and enter again. This happens if you log out, disconnect, or leave without reporting back to him.
August 5, 2026
- Rebuilt the client's skill animation system — 301 previously silent skills now animate (overall coverage went from 45% → 75%).
- Fully animated: Dragon Knight, Imperial Guard, Shadow Cross, Night Watch, Soul Ascetic, Spirit Handler, Hyper Novice.
- Near-complete: Arch Mage/Inquisitor (94%), Cardinal/Sky Emperor (93%), Troubadour-Trouvere (87%), Abyss Chaser (86%), Windhawk (83%).
- 246 skills still lack animation (mostly 1st/2nd job — Kagerou/Oboro, Soul Reaper, Mechanic, Sorcerer most affected); 42 ground-target indicators still pending.
